I am neither a superhero nor have I been cloned, so tackling my daily To Do list, career, and all of the normal errands and responsibilities that just seem to pop up out of nowhere are what I think "time robbers". I understand that there are only 24 hours in a day, and each day, I desperately hunt for just a few more minutes to add to my otherwise crazy hectic day. Haven't you felt the same way - just longing for a moment of pure blissful serenity, to yourself?? Daylight savings just doesn't help.
These bandits, the "time robbers", usurp any potential freedom I understanding I just might have discovered. You know the ones, the phone ringing, the dog sitting on your feet - waiting to go out, the pile of laundry surface the sofa, the database that needs to be updated, the appointments that need to be scheduled, the car that needs service, the morning meal dishes in the sink, the vacuum collecting dust, the dust collecting dust, silver needs polishing, your inbox demands attention, windows need washing, the dishwasher needs to be emptied, the living room light blew(although you have learned to appreciate the darkness), and the poor guinea pig needs to have his cage cleaned. These "time robbers" are just the daily incidentals that are in increasing to managing your career, family, and any personal time you may be fortunate sufficient to steal.
Day Light Savings
Have you scheduled your melt-down limited or is there just not sufficient time in your day for that either??
"Just as you begin to feel that you could make good use of time, there was no time left to you". Lisa Alther
"I must govern the clock, not be governed by it". Golda Meir
"I'm certainly going to take a procedure in time management...just as soon as I can work it into my schedule". Louis Borne
You all the time Have Other Options!
Live your life and the moments given to you, don't merely squander them away with tasks that cheat you out of time. Take a few minutes, if you are blessed sufficient to find any, and record every task, every errand, that you must do, adding in the trip time, the unwanted interruptions, and the supplementary requests from your "work/life" network. Do this from the time you wake up, until the time you fall asleep, because you too are aware that as you lay in bed, your mind replays your day, your To Do's and what was not accomplished during your short 24 hours. Hopefully, your dreams do not add to your list too. Did you have any time to breathe, spend with your family, your friends, or build your career?
Delegation of your mundane daily responsibilities and errands, that you don't have time for, don't want to do, or are just so tired of struggling with, will help to create a sense of equilibrium in your life. You will have gained back many hours of time, to be better utilized as time to do what you want to do, not just to do your To Do list.
