This video shows how to find good data in an .EPW weather file for daylight simulation in 3ds Max Design. Some standard times to use are at 9am, 12pm & 3pm on a sunny day near the two solstices; January AND June 21st, and the same times on a sunny and cloudy day near the equinox, March OR September 21st. Once you know which days and times to use, you can set these in your 3ds Max Design model when loading the weather file into your daylight system using the Perez sky model.
