Just after the end of World War Ii, right when America's economy was booming because of manufacturing materials for the war, automakers decided to get their wheels rolling with a whole lineup of new products. Associates like Cadillac and Studebaker had much success while doing this, and are remembered as "great" 1950s cars, and other companies, in this case Edsel, dropped the ball.
The "fabulous fifties" was a time when designers took a separate spin on how the cars of this age would look; they added style from trains and airplanes of the age. Commonplace cars added separate looking parts, modeled from airplanes or other vehicles. For example, the 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air was fitted with vertical fins meant to be like airplane wings on the rear of the vehicle.

Cadillac was a thriving firm in the 1950s cars business. They incorporated new designs into all their vehicles, and in doing this they became very favorite in the Jet Set age. Cadillacs were big icons in this era; even Elvis Presley owned and drove one. The prestige of owning a Cadillac appealed to everyone, even the common employee sometimes saved up sufficient to buy one.
Studebaker was someone else firm that had wonderful vehicles throughout the wonderful fifties. The design of their cars was taken from Wwii American jet fighters. Most of their coupes had bullet-shaped fronts that were very tantalizing to the masses. The 1953 Studebaker coupe was the most liked out of all. However, as well as Studebaker did in the 50's it couldn't make it in the 1960's.
1950s cars also contain hot rods and roadsters of this era. Associates like Ford and Chevrolet both came out with a sporty car to compete with each other, Ford had the Thunderbird and Chevrolet had the Corvette. In 1955, the Ford Thunderbird was great received. These cars most appealed to young children, the two-seater roadsters had a lot under the hood and the rebellious nature of the teenagers that wanted them made them a excellent match.
All in all, the 1950s was a new age of cars for America, in which the designers took what they liked and added it too their design. Many Associates succeeded in firm while the 1950's, but others failed at doing so. The era should be carefully fabulous, because it was the beginning of the years to come, in which great new cars would see daylight. You can now find restored cars from the 1950's on the internet or at local car shows.
